The last activity.......English level 4

Hello!

This is the last activity of English level 4. Now, I`ll say the things what I think about this class :)

First, I found this course very nice, because at the same time I learnt English, the activities were funny and I laugh a lot. The most interesting of this course was had the opportunity to practice the language, I spoke with my classmates in all the classes and I practiced my pronunciation while I did the activities.

On the other hand, the teacher of this class is British, I think that it is very useful to learn more this language, because I heard how a person that her native language is English, speaks and prounciates. I felt that I, at the beginning, didn´t understand her very well, but now I understand better, I learnt and that make me happy.

Well, in my opinion, the best activity of this class was speaking in pairs or doing some activity in pairs, because I think that this was the best opportunity to practice and improve the pronunciation. But I don´t really like doing the program called English discoveries, because It didn´t work, almost all the times, in general the computers didn´t work very well and it did very hard doing some activities, for example, once we had to see one video called Amy Greenhouse, and it didn´t load.

I think I improved is some topics, for example I understand more when I listen to someone speaking in English and I learnt new expressions and words, but I´m not sure about my pronunciation, it´s difficult to me speaking in English yet.

Finally, If I did this course again, I´d like to do specifically more listenings, because I think that it is very hard I would like to practice more.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Legal Ages...Did you know?

Hello!

Today I´ll talk about the Legal Ages.

Surprisingly, on the contrary was I was thinking, in the majority of the countries around the world, the legal age to drink alcohol is 18 or 21 years old. Though, obviously, there are some exceptions, for example, unfortunately, in some countries the youngs can drink and purchase alcohol to earlier ages, this is the case of the Republic of Cyprus, an island country situated in the eastern Mediterranean east of Greece, the allowed age to drink and to purchase alcohol is 12 years old and terribly, in other countries there isn´t a minimum age to drink, for example in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe, where around 5% of youngs of 13 year olds, drink alcohol more than once a week.

On the other hand, incredibly, in some countries is illegal to drink alcohol, to any age, these countries are Lybia, a country located in North Africa; Sudan, another country in Africa; Brunei, in Asia; Iran, in Asia too; and Saudi Arabia.

I´m not against of drinking alcohol, but I think that the ages allowed to drink should be reasonably stipulated by the laws in all the countries. When drinking is completely illegal the personal freedom of the people major of age is limited. But, when the legal age is ridiculously early, the law falls in the other way.

Now, I want to refer the Marriageable age, this is the age at which a person is allowed to marry, either as of right or subject to parental or other forms of consent. The age and other requirements vary between countries, but the minimal age for getting married is, approximately, 18 years all too, in the majority of the countries, also is different the age allowed for getting married for men and women. For example, in Madagascar, the age allowed for males is 17 years old, whereas for females is 14. In South Africa, this age is certainly earlier, because females can getting married at 12 years and males at 14.

Bonus Track

Now, I want to refer some "particular" laws called The world's strangest laws in the Times.

In France, it is forbidden to call a pig Napoleon... mmmmmmm?

In Alabama, it is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while driving a vehicle ( Is it legal in somewhere?)

In Ohio, it is against state law to get a fish drunk (What?).

Royal Navy ships that enter the Port of London must provide a barrel of rum to the Constable of the Tower of London (yummie!).

In Indonesia, the penalty for masturbation is decapitation (OMG!)

In Kentucky, it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon more than six-feet long (Is that possible?).

In Vermont, women must obtain written permission from their husbands to wear false teeth (Is it excessively machist?).

In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman’s genitals but is forbidden from looking directly at them during the examination; he may only see their reflection in a mirror (In what century we are? XXI?).

The head of any dead whale found on the British coast is legally the property of the King; the tail, on the other hand, belongs to the Queen - in case she needs the bones for her corset (Is this a joke?).
